An extraordinary undertaking. Transcribing Albert Ayler, seemingly the most anti-pianistic of improvisers, would appear to be an almost absurdly quixotic task. So much of what Ayler was about fell between the conventional pitches that it would seem impossible to render it on a piano, and yet Gaslini converts that fierce microtonality into ripples and arpeggios that are as provocative as they are unexpectedly appealing.  (source: The Penguin Guide to Jazz on CD - Eighth Edition)
