Saxophonist/clarinetist Claudio Capurro, on this, his first solo cd, presents us a variety of musical situations and thematic ideas which serve, to illustrate his verve and varied improvisative moods. As an alto and soprano saxophonist, Capurro displays an upbeat improvisative style. His wriggly, cohesive lines flow vigorously, with forceful explorative inventiveness and propulsive, coherent motion. Finesse and unusual creative ability combine to make his phrases well-defined, and masterfully coordinated. Capurro takes flight sneakily and with exceptional ease. (from the CD’s liner notes by Giordano Selini, translation by Michael Rosen)
Special guest: Franco D'Andrea on tracks Urano and Jadis.
