Blue Roads

Music is above all about communication and the music of Pipe Dream is a deeply human gathering, voices speaking together and alone, sometimes wistfully, sometimes with dancing energy. Built around trombone, cello and voice, with piano, vibraphone and drums completing the picture, Pipe Dream return with Blue Roads, a set of achingly beautiful, singing themes that combine elements of jazz, chamber music, folk forms and improvisation. All five group members – Hank Roberts, Filippo Vignato, Zeno De Rossi, Pasquale Mirra and Giorgio Pacorig – contribute compositions, enhancing the sense that this is more than a chance encounter of individuals, but a genuine collective.  Blue Roads is one of the most sheerly beautiful records you’ll hear this or any year, richly recorded, mixed and mastered by the CAM JAZZ team, Stefano Amerio, Danilo Rossi and artistic producer Ermanno Basso, in a special anniversary year for the label. Take the Blue Roads journey with them.
