"I thought that it was going to be an easy job when JT asked me to write some sleeve notes for his latest album. After all, John has been one of my very best friends for over thirty years now...Thirty years!! Was all that action at 'The Old Place' and 'The Three Tuns', Beckenham thirty-odd years ago? It seems just like yesterday. Well, in case you missed all the fun, I have to tell you that John Taylor was quite a piano player way back then! Of course we were just trying to find out what this fantastic music called Jazz was all about in those days. What an adventure! - and JT was out there with the rest of us - searching for something - I'm not sure that we knew exactly what we were looking for, but we were having a great time looking for it!"
