On Fellini Jazz he turns his attention to "inventing a new and in a completely original way" the sonic world of director Federico Fellini. Pieranunzi addresses six Fellini soundtrack compositions by Nino Rota and one by Luis Bacalov, and adds two originals, crafting evocative, discursive arrangements that transmute the harmonic strategies of Shorter and Evans into poetic personal argot.
