Giorgio Gaslini’s 1980 double LP Live at the Public Theater in New York captures a powerful live performance by his quintet, showcasing his avant-garde jazz compositions in one of New York’s most iconic venues.  The album blends Gaslini’s structured compositions with spontaneous improvisation, reflecting his signature approach to avant-garde jazz.   It includes reinterpretations of earlier works (Free Actions, Mexico City Free) in a live setting, adding new energy and nuance.   This recording is part of the Giorgio Gaslini – The Complete Remastered Recordings on Dischi Della Quercia box set released by CAM Jazz.
